2012 Spring Ride

Hello Bikers,

We are planning the Hoosier Hill 100 bike ride for Saturday, May 12 (the day before Mother's Day.) The ride will go west to Indiana to the highest point, Hoosier Hill -(Scout's Honor on the highest point in Indiana.

We rode the route in 2010 and it was 75 miles roundtrip so we will add some additional scenic roads to make it 100 miles. This gives us something to train for and it really starts out the biking year nicely doing a century ride early in the year.

The ride is completely self supported. There is no SAG and no support other than what you carry on your bike and in your wallet. We do ride past Arcanum so it will most likely be a lunch stop.

There is no entry fee however we did talk about seeing if we could design a T-shirt or Jersey or something, nothing definite there and no obligation.

Unlike other rides where there is a fee, if the weather is bad (rain, cold, wind) and we decide to cancel, we are not out anything. For example, if it is 38 degrees, raining with a 20 mph wind, I may choose not to go. Others can choose to not go at anytime for whatever reason they want and not be out any money. But if you do go, you get to say that you were on the FIRST ANNUAL HOOSIER HILL 100 ride, lived to tell about it, and went to the highest point in Indiana - something practically no one cares about!

So if you are interested, put it on your calendars and start training. Since Mother's Day is the very next day, it is sort of a get out of jail free pass for being gone the previous day for all day.

Please feel free to invite friends and family, this is not limited to the Leland Bike Tour Team!
